Performance Artist, Melanin Reigns, Gives Her Take on the Importance of Events Like Crazy Like a Fox
STMS: What do you do for a living? How does having mental or emotional disabilities affect your daily life?
Melanin Reigns: I’m a full-time entrepreneur and although I cannot say I truly suffer from any mental or emotional disabilities in formal, I will say that being molested in my early childhood impacted my ability to express emotions, trust intimacy and communicate effectively. I do not suffer from depression per se, however I have felt the burdens of depression and anxiety in regards to self worth. STMS: What inspired you to take part in this event when so many in the Black community seek to stay in the shadows with their diagnosis? Melanin Reigns: I’m inspired to take part in this event simply because the conversation needs to be normalized and individuals need to know that there are other people that are healing from the same things they are going through. STMS: What situations in life do you think led to you being emotionally unstable? Were you born with disabilities or did they develop due to trauma?

Melanin Reigns: This event for sure “Crazy Like A Fox” will be the first debut of my newest project “It’s not a poem, it’s my pain." I'm also working on one of my biggest projects as a designer alongside @Khay.Ali & @photosbysyranno I'm always working on my first official album “Paradigm Shift” produced By @QmoonBeatz and myself STMS: What would you consider your biggest accomplishment in the last year?
Melanin Reigns: I’m not sure, but I know my favorite was hosting a youth seminar and the Speak Life Tour Awards in LA STMS: What are your goals for the remainder of 2018?
