Mental Health Is a Lifelong Journey

Some folks think mental health is something you "fix" once and never worry about again — like patching a tire or updating your phone. But the truth? Mental health is a lifelong journey, not a quick destination.
There will be good days, tough days, and days that catch you off guard. Healing doesn’t follow a straight line — and that’s okay. Growth isn’t about being “done.” It’s about staying aware, honest, and committed to your well-being over time. In fact, after a few years out of therapy, I just started seeing a new therapist a few months back.
You don’t outgrow the need to take care of your mind just because you’ve had therapy, read the books, or made some progress. You don't even outgrow it just because you're capable of helping others with their own. In fact, maintaining mental health is like brushing your teeth — it’s something you return to daily, not just when there’s a problem.
Some seasons will be heavier than others. Some tools will work for a while and then need to be updated. The key is not giving up on yourself when it gets messy or hard.
So give yourself grace, give yourself patience, and know that the journey itself is the work. I challenge you, in the comments below to tell Me what does being “mentally healthy” mean to you today — not what it meant years ago, not what others expect — but you, right now?
If you’re ready to recommit to your healing with support and intention, I invite you to join me for Rediscover the You Within — a 5-week therapeutic writing program starting this July 3rd.
We'll go deep, together.
Healing doesn’t have to be lonely. 💜
