I Happily Talk Open About My Mental Health

Hey loves,
This month has been all about Mental Health Awareness—and I want to take a moment to say: mental health matters. It matters as much as physical health. It matters in the way we treat ourselves and others. It matters in how we show up for our communities, our work, and our families.
I know we don’t always talk about it openly, especially in certain circles. But silence only keeps us stuck. So let’s break the silence. Let’s get real.
That's why I'm always open and upfront about what I'm going through. My struggles are talked about openly because at any given time, someone else is going through the same or similar and needs to know they aren't alone. I remember being younger and not having a voice; it was silenced constantly when I tried to speak My truths. Today, I'd rather shout them from the rooftops than worry about the shame or stereotypes that others think I should care about.
Mental health is the foundation of how we move through life. It’s the way we care for our emotions, our mindset, and our well-being. Something I’ve learned through my own journey: mental health is a practice, not a destination.
For me, maintaining my mental health has meant:
Consistently checking in with myself.
Setting aside time for therapy.
Asking for support when I need it.
Saying “no” to things that compromise my peace.
It’s okay to not have everything figured out. It’s okay to need help. It’s okay to not be okay sometimes. I started seeing a new therapist in March and I'm really enjoying the weekly sessions.
Remember, struggles come and struggles pass, but, I'm Stronger Than My Struggles and YOU are too!
